I think you should just first remember not to move. I've got the problem with going to toilet too, though. Anyway, summerlander usually wakes up, goes to the toilet and goes back to bed...

Re: Novice Question
The best algorithm for novices:
- 6 hours of sleep - 5-45 minutes of awareness (go to bathroom etc) - 2-3 hours of shallow sleep with attempts on every awakening
- don't try this more than 2-3 times per week
Of course, it's very good for your chances to get a phase if do not move upon awakenings, but you should use all awakenings, when you make attempts. Even after movings you still have a lot of chances. So be focused on the cycles of indirect techniques itself. It's more important than awakenings without moving that you'll get after some practice too.

Re: Novice Question
I agree with the 6 hours method. Either 5 or 6 hours. I used to go to sleep at 1 am, wake up at 6 am and induce at 7. It worked 4 times out of 5. I think I've said this a thousand times, but it worked too well for me.Michael Raduga wrote: The best algorithm for novices:

Re: Novice Question: toilet and movings
As you see now, moving and opening eyes aren't crucial.
Mistakes:
- to much fear and returning to the body.
- opening eyes in an undeepened phase. Check SOBT about creating vision in the phase. Try to never open eyes because it often leads to a foul. The first thing to do must be deepening

Welcome, Taddie.
THE PHASE = waking consciousness during sleep hybridisation at 40Hz of brainwave activity conducive to lucid dreaming and autoscopy.

Hey Taddie, I also agree that if you move upon awakening, still go for it. My last few phase entries have been by waking up, then moving unintentionally and then doing techniques while laying there relaxed. It really works!
